About Deb

Deb has lived in Eugene since 1975. She and her husband have raised their family in the Willamette Valley, and they are now enjoying being grandparents to some awesome kiddos! In addition to her work as a software trainer and consultant, she is actively involved in her community, including a decade of service as a school board and budget committee member, several state committees, and local arts boards and committees.

Since 1993, Deb has been active in several local music organizations, singing with the Eugene Symphony Chorus, Eugene Vocal Arts, and the Eugene Concert Choir. She is a member of the Fortnightly Club, and she is actively involved with the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Oregon (OLLI), where she is a member of the Program Committee.

She currently serves as Governor for the Oregon Society of Mayflower Descendants.  She is also the past-president of the Oregon Genealogical Society and a member of the Lewis and Clark Chapter of DAR.

When not doing things that involve computers or genealogy, Deb is a recreational cyclist (both single and tandem), and is a race-walking veteran of the Portland Marathon, Eugene Marathon, Portland to Coast Relay, and Cascade Lakes Relay. She also loves to read (especially history books) and try out new recipes on family and friends!

“The bicycle has done more for the emancipation of women than anything else in the world.”  Susan B. Anthony
