Debra Sorensen opened Automation Plus+ in 1984, when she was first asked to teach WordPerfect classes for a local government organization. Within the first year she was teaching for multiple organizations, adding Lotus 1-2-3 and MS-DOS to her list of classes. Since that time, she has increased the list of software packages for which she offers classes and consulting to include a wide range of both Windows and MAC applications.
Debra has lived in Eugene, Oregon, for over 40 years. She and her husband have raised their family in the Willamette Valley, and they are now enjoying being grandparents to five awesome kiddos! In addition to her work as a software trainer and consultant, Debra is actively involved in her community, including a decade of service as a school board and budget committee member, several state committees, and local arts boards and committees.
In addition to work and family, Debra is active in several local music organizations, singing with the Eugene Symphony Chorus, Eugene Vocal Arts, and the Eugene Concert Choir. She is a recreational cyclist (both single and tandem), and is a race walking veteran of the Portland Marathon, Eugene Marathon, Portland to Coast Relay, and Cascade Lakes Relay.
When not involved in these activities, Deb loves to try out new recipes on family and friends!
